A dance dress code helps create a positive, focused, and supportive learning environment where every dancer can feel confident and prepared.
Proper dance attire allows instructors to clearly see alignment, posture, and technique, making it easier to provide feedback that helps dancers improve safely. The right shoes and clothing also support safe movement, allowing dancers to participate fully and comfortably in every class.
A consistent dress code reduces distractions, encourages responsibility, and helps dancers develop important habits of preparation and commitment. It also creates a sense of belonging, where every dancer arrives ready to learn, grow, and enjoy the experience together.
At Revolution Dance Calgary, the focus is on helping every dancer feel seen, supported, and free to dance as they are — while learning the skills and confidence that come from being part of a positive dance community.

Dance Shoes & Studio Floors
Please help protect the studio floors by ensuring dancers arrive with clean, appropriate dance shoes for their classes.
Dance shoes worn inside the studio must be kept exclusively for indoor use. Shoes that have been worn outside are not permitted in the dance studios for any reason. Outdoor shoes can bring in dirt, moisture, and debris that can damage our specialized dance floors and impact the safety of all dancers.
Maintaining clean studio floors allows dancers to move safely and confidently while protecting the high-quality surfaces that support their training.
Appropriate Dancewear
Dancers are expected to wear appropriate dance attire that allows instructors to safely provide corrections, observe technique, and support proper movement.
Dance involves active movement, stretching, and physical instruction. Proper coverage helps dancers feel comfortable and confident while maintaining a respectful, age-appropriate environment for all students. Crop tops, sports bras, or midriff-exposing clothing are not permitted during classes.
The goal of the dress code is to support every dancer’s learning experience while creating a welcoming, safe, and positive studio environment where every dancer can focus on developing their skills.
