Ms. Carolina

Matt started dancing when he was 13 years old after a 5 year career as a competitive gymnast with the University of Calgary Dinos. Initially he trained with the Young Canadians School of Performing Arts in Jazz, Ballet, Partnering, and Musical Theatre and was not introduced to hip hop until he was about 15. After a trip to train at the Edge Dance Studio in Los Angeles, Matt fell in love with hip hop and has been hard at work mastering its many styles ever since.

He has taught, performed, and been instructed in dance in cities ranging from Las Vegas and Vancouver to New York and Toronto with choreographers and dancers for artists including Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson and Usher. In 2008 he completed 6 month workshop tour throughout Australia with his dance company Wild Card Productions. Matt is a true devotee to the original west coast funk styles of popping and locking and is also a competitive break dancer making use of his gymnastics background to bring exciting tricks and moves into his classes. He looks forward to sharing his love and knowledge of the hip hop culture with all his students.
